A little bit of this, a little bit of that…

Do you ever come across something soo amazingly fantastic and wonderful that you just have to share it? I think Lululemon should be paying me commission because I’ve turned SO many people onto the brand. Right now I’m not even talking about Lululemon though (but if you ever do want to talk about it…I’m totally your girl).  I’m talking about all of the products I have been obsessing over, no one is paying me to write these little reviews, however if anyone wants to send me a check I would be more than happy to go spend it on a little Lululemon shopping spree (as always).

What I’m Completely and Totally Loving Right Now:

Clarisonic Mia

I am not the first to write about the Clarisonic (or the last) but I am in love! After lusting after these little babies for quite some time I bought one a little bit after Christmas with a gift card my Grandma gave me. It was love at first wash. Before I had the Clarisonic for a week I bought the same model for my Mom! Prior to the Clarisonic Mia my skin routine was pretty much non existent, not to say I didn’t wash my face or anything but I didn’t have a set routine or any products of choice…at all. I look forward to using my Clarisonic every morning in the shower, I use it with Philosophy’s face wash called Purity  (I could write another whole rant about how much I love this face wash too) and afterwards I swear my skin feels radiant. I would even go as far as to say I can’t feel 100% clean without it. Not to mention I feel like my skin really absorbs lotion now. More absorbent=using less product=spending less money, voila!

Sebastian Drench Shampoo and Conditioner:

Sometimes I can tame my frizzy hair and I have good old Sebastian to thank for this.

Sometimes I can tame my frizzy hair and I have good old Sebastian to thank for this.

If you’ve ever seen a picture of me on an ordinary day you wouldn’t be able to tell that I actually know kind of  a lot about hair products, but the truth is, I actually do. I worked at a hair salon in High School (I didn’t actually get paid to do anyone’s hair…obviously), I was a recceptionist and the salon had hundreds of products so I had to get to know a little bit about them in order to answer customer questions and of course sell the products. In the end I found the most magnificent shampoo and conditioner for dry/fried/frizzy hair like mine! I’ve bleached my hair, permed it, dreaded it, burned it via hair straightner/curling iron/etc/etc. No other shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel like real human hair (as opposed to the straw it usually feels like) then Sebastian’s Drench (Shampoo Conditioner). Anytime I have a friend use my shower I am always always always getting compliments on this shampoo and conditioner. It makes your hair soft, it makes it shiny and it makes it totally managable if it is a frizzy mess. Let’s face it everyone is hashtagging #longhairdontcare but no one is hash tagging #frizzyhairdontcare.

Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel:

Thanks for this pretty picture Clinique!

Thanks for this pretty picture Clinique!

I’m pretty sure we’ve all had pimples and zits before. Even fairy princesses who use their clairisonics religiously break out sometimes, I blame all the pizza and ice cream they eat. If you’ve tried the trick of putting toothpaste on a pimple over night (maybe that’s just me) or skipped school because you had a huge zit on your face (again…maybe just me, this was in middle school though…not recently) then you need to try this Spot Healing Gel because it really truly works! Add it on a zit or pimple or whatever after applying lotion and you’re set to go. If you’re really obsessive like me…you can apply this fabulous gel more than once a day and it does speed up the process. My expert advice is to also use more lotion if you apply this gel more than once a day because using too much can and will dry out your skin and no one wants to look like a flakey little lizard right?

Whole Foods Chocolate Soy Protein Powder:

A really cute and not creepy at all photo of me with this yummy protein powder.

A really cute and not creepy at all photo of me with this yummy protein powder.

The past week or so I have been talking about protein shakes a lot and honestly it is because I am completely hooked. I’m obsessed because they’re delicious and as a vegetarian I often worry that I’m not getting enough protein. Since I’m not a body builder or crazy athlete I was a little intimidated when I was searching for some protein for making smoothies. I didn’t want anything to help me recover from a workout necessarily or loose weight or bulk up. I ended up choosing the Whole Foods brand because it wasn’t too expensive and because they offered a chocolate flavor and I love chocolate (who doesn’t). Now I am addicted! I’ve almost completely kicked my Starbucks addiction (I still love it but I don’t NEED it every morning) by starting off the day with a simple protein shake (banana, almond milk, protein powder). Plus when I want something sweet without all of the extra calories that come along with ice cream (my favorite food in the entire world in case you haven’t noticed) this protein shake is the PERFECT substitute. Jeff and I both still have trouble believing that this protein powder has any nutritional value whatsoever because it is soo yummy!

Tone it Up Beach Babe:

I have to admit something. I’ve always thought workout videos are fairly cheesy. 99% of the time I would rather go to the gym, or outside on a run or to yoga/barre class. Here’s the thing, I stumbled across “Tone it Up” and I have become obsessed. My yoga mat and little baby weights have found a permanent place on the floor in my tiny studio apartment because I use this video at least once a day (sometimes more)! The DVDs include 7 workouts (Abs, Booty, Arms, High intensity, All Over Bikini Body, Long and Lean and Surfer Girl). The workouts range from 10-40 minutes and are really easy to combine or add to your regular fitness routine. Yesterday I went on a nice little run with Jeff and Boo and was pumped to add on the Abs and Arms videos afterwards. The moves are simple “toning moves” but they really work! I love all of the workout videos but my favorites are the “HIIT the Beach” (High Intensity Interval training) and the Surfer Girl workout. Karena and Katrina (the creators of “Beach Babe” and the “Tone it Up” program) are adorable and silly and are in great shape! You can find many of their videos for free on their blog or youtube so you can get a feel for the style of the video before you buy it. However, I really don’t think you will regret it…just talking about it right now makes me want to “HIIT the Beach”.

So there you go! These are the products I have been singing praises about lately. If you’re wondering if there was any sort of theme or rhyme or reason to this post…the answer is “no”. These items just make ordinary life a little bit easier, sparklier and more magical.

What are your must have products this May (or all year long)?

Friendship is Magic

Yay! It’s Monday Funday  Little Rainbow Brights! If I’m not excited that the weekend is over than I don’t know who is…just kidding, of course. My weekend was magical. The highlight of it all was Life In Color on Saturday. There were sparkles, there were rainbow colored beads, there was paint and there was lots and lots of dancing (my calves are still sore).

I like EDM because it’s really good for dancing and I love dancing. I like paint because it is really bright and fun to play with. And I like raves because they are the perfect excuse to wear crazy outfits. My passion in life is probably crazy outfits. Lady Gaga and I have that in common.

To me this photo says "Peace Love Unity and Respect"

To me this photo says “Peace Love Unity and Respect”

Ravers are crazy people, let me tell you. They don’t care how crowded it is, they still want in closer, they don’t care how dirty and disgusting the floor is…they will still sit on it (or lay on it…or make out on it…whatever), they don’t care if they’ve never met you, they still want to talk to you and give you bracelets. Overall I like it. I like that I can be a Wild Child Daisy Tutu Princess My Little Pony and nobody judges me for it. HOWEVER, I do have one complaint. All of these crazy sparkly baby faces are rather touchy for my taste AND I’m not talking PDA (although I’m anti Extreme PDA too). I’m talking they all feel the need to touch you as they walk by or when they talk to you…pretty much if they can reach you…they’re going to touch you.

I think I’m a pretty touchy person.

Exhibit A: I'm all about touching my friends.

Exhibit C: Oh look...PDA, it's alright, no big deal!

Exhibit C: Oh look…PDA, it’s alright, no big deal!

As I’ve thoroughly demonstrated I have absolutely NO problem with touching but here’s the thing…random touching from people I don’t know when I don’t even expect it…it bothers me. It makes me jumpy and sends shivers down my spine. If I don’t know you…don’t run your fingers through my hair, don’t stroke my face, don’t lick/bite/grab/tickle (insert any body part here). I don’t care if you’re a boy, a girl, a unicorn or a one eyed one horned flying purple people eater…no random groping…please.

I found this little hipster in the paint and I decided to keep him.

Minus all the random touching it was a fun night. It felt SO good to take a shower  eat a pizza when I got home and then I took the opportunity to super sleep in on Sunday. I am very much a morning person so staying up super duper late really takes its toll on me, meaning that Jeff and I spent all day Sunday laying around and doing homework watching Harry Potter. We did manage to walk to Whole Foods and pick up delicious ingredients for black bean burgers and steamed vegetables for dinner. Our roof has a BBQ on it so we had a cute little romantic rooftop dinner without even paying a fortune to go to the top of the Space Needle…it really was Sunday Funday!

Stay Weird!!!

Glasses: Claire’s Vest: Nordstrom BP T-Shirt: Victoria’s Secret Pink Leggings: Urban Outfitters Boots: Kohls

Hiiiiii! So I have a secret to tell you. I’m sort of weird. But that’s not really the secret, the secret is that I like weird people. I like people who sing really loud even if they’re bad at it. I like people who wear funky clothes and crazy make-up and people with awkward mannerisms. I hate it when people are always worried that life is going to be too awkward. Life is supposed to be awkward, let awkward happen! I like girls who can leave the house without make-up and will take silly selfies with me in the mirror at the gym. I like the people who wear tutus and dye their hair pink or green (even if it doesn’t always look the prettiest I’ve ever seen). I like people who make believe and who make up their own words and sayings or people who are passionate about the craziest things. I like people who share the thoughts in their head when sometimes they aren’t the most popular thoughts or even the best thoughts. I’ve always been sort of weird (no surprise here right?) I used to wear safety pins in my pants to school, and sometimes I would draw a heart on my cheek with lipstick and I went through a phase that I told people I liked the taste of blood. And that was even before Twilight became popular…that was just creepy, not weird. My friend Laura and I used to put on the wackiest outfits we could find and walk, skip (or limp) to the grocery store and try to buy the weirdest items we could discover. We always had some crazy backstory about who we were and why we were such super freaks of nature. People thought we were weird…obviously, but it was SO fun.  My friend Nicole and I once spent a hot summer afternoon down by the lake. We threw blackberries at each other and mud and in the end we looked like crazy jungle women…so of course we decided to walk to the grocery store and pick up food for lunch (for some reason the grocery store is always my go to “get weird” location, probably because I love to eat). People stared, they laughed…and some really strange people even asked to take their photos with us…not that I have room to talk. I like to make weird high shrill mouth noises with my tongue, I like to trick people that I have weird made up disorders or that I’m a celebrity (Jeff usually pretends to be the founder of instagram) and talk to my doggy like she’s a child. I like watching Barbie and My Little Pony movies and if someone would actually play Barbies with me I swear I’d be more entertained than a five year old. I like to give people crazy nicknames and to make people call me Fairy Princess (especially if we haven’t met before). I like Harry Potter references and I like any excuse to wear costumes. The point is, you should be silly. You should be weird. Don’t be creepy, no-one likes creepy. But stay weird. It will make you happy and at the end of the day people spend WAY less time thinking about you and judging your life than you spend thinking about what they think of you. Those are my wise words for the weekend, in the spirit of my inner weird-raver-girl who is about to come out this weekend at Life in Color.

Tell me how you’re weird!!!

If you’re happy and you know it…drink a protein shake and do some squats: My week so far!

Manic Crazy Happy: That's me lately.

Manic Crazy Happy: That’s me lately.

This week has been happy, I’ve been smiling and singing and cartwheeling all around and I don’t want to stop. It started off with Mother’s day…I love my Mom, she’s adorable and caring and the older I get the more I realize we are so much alike.

If you're wondering...No, this picture has nothing to do with this post, I just had a fun time last weekend at the beach with these pretty faces!

If you’re wondering…No, this picture has nothing to do with this post, I just had a fun time last weekend at the beach with these pretty faces!

Then on Tuesday I signed up for my Fall classes and I somehow was the luckiest. Ever. The luckiest ever. Soo I have the world’s longest days on Tuesdays/Thursdays (class until eight at night…woot) but I have all day Monday/Wednesday and Friday free (hello perfect schedule for weekend getaways and of course long days “working” with my babies). So I’m pleased.

Pretty ladies at the beach!

Pretty ladies at the beach!

But that’s not all…here are the top reasons I’m TOTALLY overjoyed this week:

1. Chocolate and Banana Protein Smoothies…this is the world’s easiest recipe and yet somehow I’ve gone my whole life without it. Chocolate Protein Powder+Banana+Almond Milk+Ice= The Perfect yummy substitute for a morning mocha or even ice cream.

This is mainly of my salad...but kind of of the protein shake too.

This is mainly of my salad…but kind of of the protein shake too.

2. Crafting has been a total stress relief for me the past few weeks. My inner Martha Stewart has been shining through and all I want to do is create create create!

I'm considering a career in custom crazy lingerie design.

3. Dogs. I just love dogs, especially my dog Boo. She’s a freak of nature but it’s so cute to watch her run around the dog park with her puppy friends.

Baby dog is a wimp at the dog park.

Baby dog is a wimp at the dog park.

4. Tone it Up fitness…have you heard of this workout plan? I hadn’t until this week when I decided to check out the website. Karena and Katrina have some great toning workouts on their blog (I’m thinking of buying the workout video someday too) that have been helping me to feel strong and toned all week long.

5. My exam on Friday was changed to a “Take Home Exam”. I’m pretty sure no further explanation is needed here.

6. Baby Hazel, she’s totally my best friend. She sometimes spits in my face, and sometimes tells me she doesn’t like me but in the end she begs me to stay everyday when I leave to go to class. I think this is a taste of what Motherhood must feel like. And she tells me that I look like a princess, how can I not love her?

I love you grumpy baby. P.S. my hair is wet here...not greasy.

I love you grumpy baby. P.S. my hair is wet here…not greasy.

7. There are only 3 weeks lefts of the quarter…THREE! I’m taking Summer classes…but still…Home Stretch!!!

8. And Finally…LIFE IN COLOR (an Electronic Dance Music Festival) is in two days!!! I can’t wait! These are the sorts of events I live for. Crazy outfits, an excuse to wear crazy makeup, get covered in paint and of course dance the night away with my two besties. You can bet I am going to be posting millions of pictures come Sunday or Monday.

Boo and I are just two girls who won't ever give up Starbucks...ever.

Boo and I are just two girls who won’t ever give up Starbucks…ever.

For those of you glass half empty pessimistic types…I did stub my toe yesterday and I’m worried my toenail is going to fall off in the middle of sandal season…not cool. Also I bumped my head today when I was trying to do laundry…on the wall…and somehow scratched my arm. I guess I’m really clumsy.

Oh and this whole eating right and exercising thing…it has been fabulous. Of course I haven’t been perfect (not giving up Starbs completely, no way, or ice cream…that’s a joke) but I have been drinking water like crazy and I feel SO much more energetic and just over all healthier. Who knew right? (;

Can't wait to dance all night and get covered in paint with these babies.

Can’t wait to dance all night and get covered in paint with these babies.

Is anyone else just having a happy week? If you are you can clap your hands, or do a cartwheel or

just hug your dog, that’s what I’ve been doing.

Jordyn

P.S. Speaking of Happiness…my Mom and I each bought a copy of “The Happiness Project” (we’re going to have our own mini book club, precious) and I am planning on reading it as soon as I have some more free time. I keep hearing all of these great reviews on it so I really feel as if I can’t afford not to read it. Has anyone read it? What did you think?

Eating Vegetables & Stuff

So usually I’m the Cardio Queen, not in the sense that I run ultra-marathons everyday or anything (not even close) but in the sense that cardio is my workout of choice. However, the more I read (Women’s Health, Shape and Self magazines…the best sources of courses) the more I realize that weight training and diet should also be apart of my life/exercise routine. For a long time I just ignored those reccomendations primarily because running makes me happy and because I’m comfortable with running, I know how to run and I don’t feel awkward doing it.

Barre 3 Champions of the world!

Barre 3 Champions of the world!

I don’t know how to lift weights, I don’t know how to cross fit and I certainly do NOT know how to Zumba. But I’m trying to learn. I’ve done yoga and Barre 3 before, and I’ve really enjoyed both BUT I’ve never really stuck with either. I’ve done TRX once, and it was insane. I’d take running a half marathon ANY day over TRX, and my crazy Mama does TRX twice a week…no. I’m sticking with incorporating Barre 3, Yoga/Pilates and some basic weights into my routine (I’m talking 5-10lbs here people, nothing crazy).

A typical meal...I think this describes how I feel about cooking.

A typical meal…I think this describes how I feel about cooking.

As for diet…I don’t do it. I can’t tell myself “no cookies or ice cream for you, never ever”. Because it doesn’t work. I eat spinach and avocados like they’re candy but you’re always always always going to find ice cream and chocolate syrup in my apartment, sorry I’m not sorry. I’m trying to make more nutritious choices meaning less refined sugar, sugary drinks (aka my Starbucks addiction), and processed food (frozen pizza) and MORE raw/steamed vegetables (which I actually love), water, protein shakes (since I’m a vegetarian and I KNOW I do not get enough protein) and fresh fruit (if only raspberries didn’t mold on the car ride home from the store…)

When Nicole and I were supposed to go running...and then we didn't.

When Nicole and I were supposed to go running…and then we didn’t.

I’m not on a diet, by any means, just rethinking the way I do things and the way I treat my body. It’s all so difficult when you hate to cook as much as I do. I’d love to hear what other people do to stay toned and happy and healthy? Does anyone out there besides my crazy mom actually like TRX?

xxoo,

Jordyn

P.S. All I can think about lately is My Little Ponies, I have a My Little Pony themed rave outfit in the making and I can’t even describe how excited I am to wear it this weekend.

This My Little Pony sweatshirt makes me WAY too happy, and the little fairy princesses adore it.

This My Little Pony sweatshirt makes me WAY too happy, and the little fairy princesses adore it.

P.P.S. This is a little late but I had the greatest time on mother’s day with my Mom and Baby Brother. I swear, they are both the funniest people I’ve ever met, and they made the run around Greenlake fly by. I love you guys, and I’m SOO happy to have you as my family!

Who Wears Short Shorts? (I do!!!)

Happy Friday world! So today I was feeling extra crafty and extra ready for summer so I decided to bring you the world’s easiest DIY craft. I don’t know about you but I have about a million pairs of old shorts from high school/junior high (all of the Abercrombie and Hollister variety). Yes, I was a Hollister “model” for a whole summer and let me tell you being their “model” is exactly the same as being a sales associate at any other store. No need to glamorize it.

Since I’ve moved on from the wannabe California girl surfer style days of my life, I thought why not revamp this part of my wardrobe? (Let’s be real though I still want to be a California surfer girl, I just don’t dress like one).

If you want to look like the world's sassiest hippie (obviously me) keep reading.

If you want to look like the world’s sassiest hippie (obviously me) keep reading.

So I started out with this boring pair of Hollister shorts:

Exhibit A: Shorts, lace, scissors.

Exhibit A: Shorts, lace, scissors.

I bought some lace (1/4 of a yard is WAY WAY WAY more than you need, I should have bought 1/16 of a yard and I would have STILL had some left over).

1) Press the shorts with a handy dandy iron, or if you’re not a real grown up you can use your hair straightener (no judgement, that was me until 2 months ago).

2) Use dress makers scissors if your a pro seamstress like me (or just regular old crayola kids scissors) to cut along the seam of the side of your shorts.

Boom Shaka Laka Laka, easy easy easy!

Boom Shaka Laka Laka, easy easy easy!

3) The next step is pretty obvious too, you cut out pieces of your lace. You can cut triangle shaped pieces if you want to be precise with your sewing or squares if you don’t mind having a little extra fabric inside your shorts.

4) Pin the lace inside your shorts.

5) Use a sewing machine (or a needle and thread, I’m just lazy and had a sewing machine on hand) so sew along the  seam and secure the lace.

The side should look like this.

The side should look like this.

I obviously messed up with my sewing a few times (because even good people make mistakes) but I didn’t really care because I was going for the distressed look.

6) If all you want is a little lace action than TA-DA you’re done but I felt like getting a little funky, it is friday after all.

7)BEADING!

I used about 1 yard of this lovely cording/decorative ribbon stuff (you can find all sorts at your local fabric store)

I don't know what this pretty stuff is called but fabric stores have tons of it!

I don’t know what this pretty stuff is called but fabric stores have tons of it!

I pinned the decorative beaded ribbon stuff along the edge of my shorts, and stitched it onto my shorts. Easy! And then I double stitched because I wanted it to be secure.

8) Post pictures of your beautiful creation all over instagram/pinterest/facebook/whatever because you’re super crafty and trendy!

The finished product!

The finished product!

This probably would have looked even cuter on a trendy distressed pair of high waisted shorts but I’m still living in middle school and I don’t have those so it was hollister booty shorts for me.

Bring on the sunshine Seattle!

Bring on the sunshine Seattle!

Like I said these are totally booty shorts but now they are girly-girlified so good luck getting me to take them off!

Like I said these are totally booty shorts but now they are girly-girlified so good luck getting me to take them off!

So there you go Party People, if you want an easy and fun craft to really get you in the summer spirit this weekend, this is the one! I hope you all have wonderful weekend plans. I’m about to rock my new short shorts at a bonfire with friends tonight, as long as there are s’mores involved I know it will be a good time.

The Stella Bible

Introducing your new mentor...Stella!

Introducing your new mentor…Stella!

Everything you need to know in life you can probably learn from Stella. If you’re wondering who Stella is she isn’t an almighty divinity or a philosopher, she’s the sassy pants five year old I nanny and let me tell you…she knows about life. I’ve taken the time to compile some of my favorite Stella quotes and share them with you which makes me sort of like the Stella prophet and this post is the Stella bible.

IMG_1683

“I tried not to be bratty, but it’s just my personality”-Stella

If you learn only one lesson from Stella, let it be this one. Sometimes being bratty is inevitable, especially when it is your older sister’s birthday and she is getting all of the presents and cake OR when your boyfriend won’t walk to the store across the street and buy you ice cream.

photo-22

“Some foods, like cereal foods, are good. Other foods, like kale and cucumbers, are bad. If you just eat what you like you’ll be happy and go to bed when you’re supposed to.” -Stella

I think this quote was dedicated to all of the crash dieters out there. Obviously kale and cucumbers are just bad. Other foods…namely, cereal, specifically cinnamon toast crunch, is good. Eat cereal and go to bed on time, it’s a win-win situation. How could I have gone this long without knowing this?

IMG_2037

“I just want to sleep all day, and party all night…”-Stella

Stella is not a morning person (and who can blame her here?). In the morning she usually prefers to be alone, she might solve a puzzle, she might draw, she might sing and dance but she wants to do it all alone. When her sisters bother her she gets really, really, really, grumpy about it (to say the least). I think we can all relate to wanting to sleep all day and party all night, I don’t think it’s an accident that work and school seem to have no place in this schedule.

IMG_1396

“Killing Fairies?! OH BOY! Then there will be no more magic or even magic tricks,”-Stella

Where has all the magic in the world gone? Someone must have been killing fairies. Let’s take this a little deeper for a minute, when did you kill the fairies in your life? Okay…I know I sound crazy, but stick with me for a second here, I’m about to get a little metaphorical. As we grow up we loose sight of the magic all around us, we stop believing in fairies, happy endings and our longing for adventure and excitement fades. Life is so much more refreshing when you believe in fairies, when you find the magic in every moment. I’m sure that’s what Stella was getting at here.

IMG_2020

“When I grow up I want to be a sparkling ballerina glitter fairy princess happy gymnast!”-Stella

The message here is to dream big, and then dream bigger. Don’t just sparkle but sparkle and glitter and be happy too. I think we give up too easily on our dreams, and if we were to all embrace our inner five year old selves we would be very very ambitious.

This is pretty Stella-esque.

This is pretty Stella-esque.

I’ll be the first to admit that this little girl (and her sisters) have taught me way more than I could ever ever ever teach them. Each time I dread going to work it’s like they secretly know because when I arrive they are full of more zest for life and love for me than I could ever ask for.

Playing Dress Up: Date Night Edition

So today I decided to try and be a fashion blogger, not permanently per say but at least for the day because I wanted so badly to participate in the “What She Wears” link up. It’s basically just an excuse to play dress up/pretend you’re a super model (who doesn’t want to do that???). This month’s theme was “Date Night” and I figured since I’ve been on a few dates with my precious boyfriend that I should participate. Of course Jeff, my fashion photographer beau, was more than willing to help a girl out (Thank You!!)

I don't know about you but for me date nights are all about feeling Sassy & Confident.

Of course I probably should have posted this blog this morning but since it is a fashion theme I figured I might as well be fashionably late…right?! In case you’re wondering…I’m not actually going on a date tonight (sadly), I’ll be sewing my little heart out and catching up on homework for my spreadsheets class (yuck). So I guess a date with my sewing machine and microsoft excel? Romantic right?

What do you wear on a date night? What is your dream date? Let me know!

P.S. I FINALLY finished Gossip Girl, I cried at the end, I’m so sad it’s over. Also I’m thinking of trying a paddle board yoga class, it sounds amazing, has anyone tried it that can give me any tips???

You know how I was talking about how terrible last week was? Well…the past weekend completely made up for it (we’ll talk about my awful grade on my tote bag later, it’s still a sore subject). I spent Friday with some friends enjoying chocolate covered strawberries, a bonfire (S’MORES), champagne and lots of laughs. My favorite game is to make everyone go around in a circle and answer silly ice breaker like questions…such as “If you were a Disney Character which one would you be?” or  ”If the person to the left of you was a fairytale creature which would they be and why?”. I always loved the first day of school and I think it shows now.

For those of you who don’t know what chocolate covered strawberries look like.

Saturday was my one year anniversary with Jeff. Everyone I’ve talked to about it has been pretty surprised that we’ve only been together for a year…I guess things get pretty serious pretty fast when you move in together right away. I mean he’s already adopted Boo as his own and is more than willing to clean up after her garbage tossing habits. In the morning I walked around Greenlake with Boo, my friend Megan, and the ADORABLE baby she nannies. I wanted to take a picture because she 100% looked like a little doll but I thought it would be creepy since she isn’t my kid, or the kid I nanny, or Megan’s kid but the kid Megan nannies…you know, a little weird. Anyways the weather was fabulous and I was soo thankful to have some time outside in the sun even though Boo was a little terror and almost pulled me into ongoing traffic.

So cute but sooo bad.

This isn't even the way I was walking or part of the park but I just thought it looked like such a sunny happy pathway.

Sunday…AMAZING, literally, AMAZING! My Mom and her boyfriend, Jason, invited Jeff and I to spend the afternoon boating and barbecuing with them since the weather was supposed to be phenomenal (which it was). It was the perfect sunshiny springtime day. Words can’t even describe it…look at the pictures, plus we had fudgesicles (my fave). The only thing that could have made the day any better would have been if my bratty little brother would have come but he was busy “studying” with his sassy new girlfriend  study buddy   let’s be honest, I don’t know what she is but she was somehow more exciting than a day with me in the sun. I’m trying not to take it personally.

Supermodel on the dock, but for real check out my cute Old Navy Sandals and bag. Super summery and super inexpensive, yay!

The gorgeous scenery was unreal.

My Mom told me not to put up a picture of her in her bathing suit but I think we can all agree she looks fabulous.

Thanks for taking us on the boat Mom & Jason!

I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend! I’m praying to Seattle’s evil rainmakers for the sun to stick around for…well…forever.

How Jeff and I are exactly, 100%, the same as Chuck & Blair.

It’s no secret, I’m obsessed with Gossip Girl. I’m currently on season 6 and it’s killing me because part of me is torn and wants to sit down and watch every single episode and cry when it’s over and part of me wants to split each episode into ten minute increments and limit myself to one session a day and savor it for as long as possible before the breakdown that is sure to follow the series finale. If wishing I was Blair Waldorf is wrong, I don’t want to be right.  But what might sort of be a secret is that today is my real life one year anniversary with Jeff, awww. Jeff and I are just like Chuck and Blair, 100% identical clones, let me tell you why:

amazing

amazing2

1. Chuck and Blair are selfish and egotistical. Jeff and I are too.

One time Jeff put on a black down jacket and told me he looked like a god. He also frequently explains to me that he has the most beautifully amazing eyes he’s ever seen. I agree that they’re pretty nice but mine are obviously better. We have this conversation fairly often. Blair and Chuck obviously have delusions of royalty,  Blair actually was a Princess for a minute even (but I’m a princess all the time so maybe Queen B just wants to be me).

I believe this is the jacket he was referring to.

I believe this is the jacket he was referring to.

2. We had a really difficult time saying “I love you” for the first time.

We all remember that crazy ten episode sequence in which Chuck and Blair go back and forth trying to make the other one say “I love you” first. With Jeff and I it was pretty much the exact same thing. I think Jeff knew I was trouble when I walked in a psycho from the start so he didn’t want to tell me he loved me too quickly so instead he just kept hinting and hinting and hinting that it might be true. “I really really really really really like you sooo much” “I think I might love you soon” “I like you a lot, like…a lot”- Actual quotes from my Prince Charming.

I'm pretty sure I was starting to feel like this.

I’m pretty sure I was starting to feel like this.

3. We were teenage Billionaires.

This one is so obvious I hate to even put it on the list but Jeff and I also were filthy rich preppy little brats. If you’re wondering…this does confirm it, the rumors are true, I am Taylor Swift’s long lost sister and I actually sang back up on her last album. So yes, that’s why we basically look like twin sisters.

4. We Probably moved a little too fast…

As in we started officially living together like 2 months after we started dating. I don’t think any relationship experts would advise that but for some crazy reason it’s been working and we’re both happy, and that’s really what matters right?! (Obviously as far as Chuck and B go…I’m referring to the limo situation here).

5. The Paparazzi are all over us taking Cheesy photos like this:

Whenever Jeff and I are taking a stroll through Central Park and we happen to start kissing passionately some middle schooler with a camera phone always happened to grab a shot and of course it always ends up on the gossip sites…soo embarrassing.

Ugh, leave us alone! We just want to be treated like normal people...

6. We have great taste in Champagne.

Because we’re also really rich we also love champagne. We have only the most sophisticated taste and we switch it up with the most fancy champagne all the time and we never just buy whatever is on sale at Safeway…ever.

I would put up a picture of Jeff and I at one of our favorite black tie events but I don't want you to be jealous.

7. We’re really scheming.

This isn’t a joke. We really are.Jeff and I have a lot of tricks up our sleeves and we’re both pretty manipulative. Sure we aren’t trying to tear families apart and end relationships and send people to jail but that’s just because we’re good people, not because we’re not capable of it…obviously.

8. We’re painfully honest with each other.

Living with one another  leaves you no choice but to be honest with one another. If Jeff’s snoring…I’ll tell him, he’s called me out for wiping my hands on our bed, and both of us are calling Boo out for her garbage eating habit on a daily basis. I think this gif explains it (except in our case I’m Chuck and Jeff’s Blair)…

I don't want to bathe and you can't make me.

I don’t want to bathe and you can’t make me.

9. Jeff and I have severe separation anxiety. And I’m pretty sure Chuck and Blair do too.

From the first time we actually ever hung out on we’ve been in contact pretty much nonstop. Of course there have been a few exceptions but we’re both annoyingly needy and clingy people which is probably why we’re meant to be.

10. And finally (obviously): We’re head over heels in love.

Chuck and Blair are wrong for so many reasons. They’re the characters you want to hate but in the end you end up loving. At first I hated Chuck and Blair together, I was totally like “These two are both crazy self obsessed lunatics, they’re only going to cause chaos” and now I’m like “You’re both so crazy you have to be together!”. I like to think it’s the same with Jeff and I.

Was this too cheesy? Probably. But…as you can see there is virtually no difference between the relationship Blair and Chuck have and the relationship Jeff and I have. I thought it was weird too but it’s a fact of life.

Happy One Year-Iversary Jeff, In the end we’re both crazy and ridiculous and weird but,

I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!
