Do you ever come across something soo amazingly fantastic and wonderful that you just have to share it? I think Lululemon should be paying me commission because I’ve turned SO many people onto the brand. Right now I’m not even talking about Lululemon though (but if you ever do want to talk about it…I’m totally your girl). I’m talking about all of the products I have been obsessing over, no one is paying me to write these little reviews, however if anyone wants to send me a check I would be more than happy to go spend it on a little Lululemon shopping spree (as always).
What I’m Completely and Totally Loving Right Now:
Clarisonic Mia

Using this pretty little picture from Sephora.com
I am not the first to write about the Clarisonic (or the last) but I am in love! After lusting after these little babies for quite some time I bought one a little bit after Christmas with a gift card my Grandma gave me. It was love at first wash. Before I had the Clarisonic for a week I bought the same model for my Mom! Prior to the Clarisonic Mia my skin routine was pretty much non existent, not to say I didn’t wash my face or anything but I didn’t have a set routine or any products of choice…at all. I look forward to using my Clarisonic every morning in the shower, I use it with Philosophy’s face wash called Purity (I could write another whole rant about how much I love this face wash too) and afterwards I swear my skin feels radiant. I would even go as far as to say I can’t feel 100% clean without it. Not to mention I feel like my skin really absorbs lotion now. More absorbent=using less product=spending less money, voila!
Sebastian Drench Shampoo and Conditioner:

Sometimes I can tame my frizzy hair and I have good old Sebastian to thank for this.
If you’ve ever seen a picture of me on an ordinary day you wouldn’t be able to tell that I actually know kind of a lot about hair products, but the truth is, I actually do. I worked at a hair salon in High School (I didn’t actually get paid to do anyone’s hair…obviously), I was a recceptionist and the salon had hundreds of products so I had to get to know a little bit about them in order to answer customer questions and of course sell the products. In the end I found the most magnificent shampoo and conditioner for dry/fried/frizzy hair like mine! I’ve bleached my hair, permed it, dreaded it, burned it via hair straightner/curling iron/etc/etc. No other shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel like real human hair (as opposed to the straw it usually feels like) then Sebastian’s Drench (Shampoo Conditioner). Anytime I have a friend use my shower I am always always always getting compliments on this shampoo and conditioner. It makes your hair soft, it makes it shiny and it makes it totally managable if it is a frizzy mess. Let’s face it everyone is hashtagging #longhairdontcare but no one is hash tagging #frizzyhairdontcare.
Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel:

Thanks for this pretty picture Clinique!
I’m pretty sure we’ve all had pimples and zits before. Even fairy princesses who use their clairisonics religiously break out sometimes, I blame all the pizza and ice cream they eat. If you’ve tried the trick of putting toothpaste on a pimple over night (maybe that’s just me) or skipped school because you had a huge zit on your face (again…maybe just me, this was in middle school though…not recently) then you need to try this Spot Healing Gel because it really truly works! Add it on a zit or pimple or whatever after applying lotion and you’re set to go. If you’re really obsessive like me…you can apply this fabulous gel more than once a day and it does speed up the process. My expert advice is to also use more lotion if you apply this gel more than once a day because using too much can and will dry out your skin and no one wants to look like a flakey little lizard right?
Whole Foods Chocolate Soy Protein Powder:
The past week or so I have been talking about protein shakes a lot and honestly it is because I am completely hooked. I’m obsessed because they’re delicious and as a vegetarian I often worry that I’m not getting enough protein. Since I’m not a body builder or crazy athlete I was a little intimidated when I was searching for some protein for making smoothies. I didn’t want anything to help me recover from a workout necessarily or loose weight or bulk up. I ended up choosing the Whole Foods brand because it wasn’t too expensive and because they offered a chocolate flavor and I love chocolate (who doesn’t). Now I am addicted! I’ve almost completely kicked my Starbucks addiction (I still love it but I don’t NEED it every morning) by starting off the day with a simple protein shake (banana, almond milk, protein powder). Plus when I want something sweet without all of the extra calories that come along with ice cream (my favorite food in the entire world in case you haven’t noticed) this protein shake is the PERFECT substitute. Jeff and I both still have trouble believing that this protein powder has any nutritional value whatsoever because it is soo yummy!
Tone it Up Beach Babe:

I have to admit something. I’ve always thought workout videos are fairly cheesy. 99% of the time I would rather go to the gym, or outside on a run or to yoga/barre class. Here’s the thing, I stumbled across “Tone it Up” and I have become obsessed. My yoga mat and little baby weights have found a permanent place on the floor in my tiny studio apartment because I use this video at least once a day (sometimes more)! The DVDs include 7 workouts (Abs, Booty, Arms, High intensity, All Over Bikini Body, Long and Lean and Surfer Girl). The workouts range from 10-40 minutes and are really easy to combine or add to your regular fitness routine. Yesterday I went on a nice little run with Jeff and Boo and was pumped to add on the Abs and Arms videos afterwards. The moves are simple “toning moves” but they really work! I love all of the workout videos but my favorites are the “HIIT the Beach” (High Intensity Interval training) and the Surfer Girl workout. Karena and Katrina (the creators of “Beach Babe” and the “Tone it Up” program) are adorable and silly and are in great shape! You can find many of their videos for free on their blog or youtube so you can get a feel for the style of the video before you buy it. However, I really don’t think you will regret it…just talking about it right now makes me want to “HIIT the Beach”.
So there you go! These are the products I have been singing praises about lately. If you’re wondering if there was any sort of theme or rhyme or reason to this post…the answer is “no”. These items just make ordinary life a little bit easier, sparklier and more magical.
What are your must have products this May (or all year long)?
xxoo,

Saturday was my one year anniversary with Jeff. Everyone I’ve talked to about it has been pretty surprised that we’ve only been together for a year…I guess things get pretty serious pretty fast when you move in together right away. I mean he’s already adopted Boo as his own and is more than willing to clean up after her garbage tossing habits. In the morning I walked around Greenlake with Boo, my friend Megan, and the ADORABLE baby she nannies. I wanted to take a picture because she 100% looked like a little doll but I thought it would be creepy since she isn’t my kid, or the kid I nanny, or Megan’s kid but the kid Megan nannies…you know, a little weird. Anyways the weather was fabulous and I was soo thankful to have some time outside in the sun even though Boo was a little terror and almost pulled me into ongoing traffic.
